Andrew “Iggy” Franco, 2011 Ridgefield High School graduate, returned last week from a China trip as part of a two-week business and cultural program at Bryant University where he is a sophomore.
On the cultural side Franco’s group visited key points of interest in Beijing, Zhuhai, Yangshuo and Shanghai. On the business side, in Beijing they met with business managers at the Lenovo company, in Yangshuo they sat in on meetings with a group of foreign business owners to discuss doing business in China and in Zhuhai they visited The Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai where Franco led a discussion focusing on innovation and entrepreneurialism as outlined in Bryant’s Innovation and Design Experience for All program. In an exchange of cultures Franco spoke in Chinese and the class answered in English. Franco is an applied mathematics and statistics major with minors in business and Chinese. He is the son of Yvonne and Tom Franco of Ridgefield.
