Does your child want to refine their swim strokes? Ridgefield Parks & Recreation is offering Stroke Clinics from Tuesday, March 15 to 18, at the Recreation Center. These clinics are perfect for the student getting ready for their swim team or preparing for a lifeguard training course.

Students swimming at American Red Cross levels three through five meet from 4 to 5 p.m.  Students ages 13 to 18 meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Each day, the focus is on a different stroke.  On Tuesday, both groups work on the front crawl. On Wednesday, both groups work on the back crawl. On Thursday, students swimming at levels three through five, work on the breaststroke.  On Friday, students swimming at levels three through five, work on the butterfly. You may register for one to four days. Each clinic puts emphasis on proper technique and stroke efficiency through skill work and drills. Students ages 15 or older may be eligible to take the Lifeguard Training Course available during spring break. Classes run from April 18 to 22 and meet from 10 to 5:30 p.m. There’s a pre-course skills test that must be passed to enroll. For a list of required skills: ridgefieldparksandrec.org or 203-431-2755.
