Ben Sulzinsky created the Democratic Town Committee’s new website.

Ben Sulzinsky created the Democratic Town Committee’s new website.

A graphic designer and a Ridgefield High School student combined their talents to craft the Democratic Town Committee’s new website.

Eve Siegel designed a new logo, which includes a drawing of the Cass Gilbert fountain that was incorporated into a new website, which was created by Ben Sulzinsky, a sophomore.

The new website was completed June 27 and continues to be updated, allowing Ridgefield Democrats to post articles, events listings and photos.

Sulzinsky, 15,  is the son of Ridgefield Board of Education member and incumbent candidate Karen Sulzinsky. A musician, composer and Web designer, Sulzinsky completed the revamp of the website this summer.

The merging of Siegel’s and Sulzinsky’s talents had its roots in Siegel’s designing and donating two posters in 2012 for use on a sandwich board outside Democratic election headquarters.

Impressed with Siegel’s talents, which include designing hundreds of book covers, brochures and other promotional materials, the Town Committee enlisted her to help with a new branding and communications campaign that began earlier this year. Siegel completed the logo design by mid-March, creating the new website’s fountain icon, pairing it with the block style “Ridgefield Democrats” text and developing a new color scheme. Sulzinsky then created the all new website with clean graphics, a modern interface and numerous features.

The result of redesign is an “up-to-the-minute website” with articles on local, state and national issues combined with an automatically updated events calendar, sign-up modules for volunteers, and mailing lists. The site also includes an “About” tab describing the Town Committee, an “Officials” section listing biographies and photos of Democratic town officials, and a “Voter Info” page with links for voter registration and absentee ballots.
