CVS announced it will open a new store in the former Ancona’s Market location.
Michael DeAngelis, CVS’s director of public relations, confirmed the renovation plans Tuesday afternoon and said the pharmacy chain hoped to open the store this summer.
“We have secured our permits and plan to begin work as soon as possible in order to open our new CVS at this location in August,” he said.
A “coming soon” sign was put up at the Branchville Road site earlier this week.
Ancona’s announced its plan to close in January after more than 90 years of business.
Ancona’s Wines & Liquors remains open for business, and will be the new CVS pharmacy’s immediate neighbor.
