Frank E McNamara
Frank E McNamara, 76, of Ridgefield and formerly of Prospect, Connecticut, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Danbury, Connecticut on October 15, 1937 the son of Frank P. and Elizabeth Humphries McNamara.
Frank was an avid skier, a member of PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America), a member of the National Ski Patrol, and was past president of NAVA Ski Club of Waterbury. Frank and Simone enjoyed spending their winters skiing and enjoying time with friends at Burke Mountain in Vermont. In 1984, Frank and Simone began their ski touring business, Prospect Ski Tours, Inc. that led groups to many different ski locations in Europe and the Rocky Mountains.
Frank was owner of McNamara Apartments, LLC in Connecticut.
He married Simone Adam in February of 1961 and they lived in Prospect, CT most of their lives before moving to Ridgefield. Frank is survived by two children: Patrick and Michael McNamara of Ridgefield and their wives, Paula Kelly McNamara and Stephanie McNamara. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Finn, Liam, Declan, Brenden and Kiley all of Ridgefield; his brother, Paul S. McNamara of Ridgefield and his wife Dewey McNamara, his sister Mary M. Warlop of Tiverton, RI and several nieces and nephews: Kevin McNamara of Fairfield, CT, Chrissy McNamara Carroccio of Dorset, VT, Elish and Alana Warlop of Denver, CO, Veronique Adam of Paris, France and Jules Loic Adam of Portsmouth, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.
Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Tuesday, February 4, 2017 from 5PM to 8PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Frank’s memory to the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, 90 East Ridge Rd, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
