Hand Painted Furniture is a new class available through Ridgefield Continuing Education.
“No previous art experience is necessary!” said instructor Shelley Lowell. “This class covers how to prepare the surface and develop, create and paint designs using pictures, patterns, lettering, sponging, marbling, or feathering.”
Each student completes a small project supplied by the instructor for a fee of $11-$16 payable at first session.
Ms. Lowell is an award-winning painter and sculptor with extensive experience teaching furniture painting.
Class meets on Mondays, Feb. 3, 10 and 24 and March 3, 10 and 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at East Ridge Middle School. Cost is $122 plus materials.
