The annual Black/Jewish Spirituals Music Shabbat with the Serendipity Chorale, an annual musical and spiritual event for the Martin Luther King celebration, will take place Friday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. at Temple Shearith Israel.
The Serendipity Chorale under conductor Gigi Van Dyke has performed widely, has been honored by former Gov. M. Jodi Rell and is a favorite of Pete Seeger.
The community is welcome to attend the service, which will be conducted by Rabbi David Reiner and Cantor Katchko-Gray. Marcia Klebanow, piano, and Randy Wasserman, oboe, will perform along with the temple’s Adult Choir and Talented Teens.
Refreshments will follow the service. Carpooling is requested, as parking space is limited.
