SPHERE (Special People Housing Education Recreation and Employment) will have its annual art show, featuring the work of members who participated in the summer art program, tonight, Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 in the Lounsbury House Ridgefield Community Center, 316 Main Street.
Each year, adults with developmental disabilities create artwork — paintings — showcasing their artistic skills. Their work over the summer culminates with the show and a chance to shine in the Ridgefield community.
“This year’s SPHERE art program theme was travel, and its members were asked to create various artworks as they visited Asia through their art, the artists of the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Italy and then traveling through our East Coast shoreline of lighthouses,” said Carolyn Daher of SPHERE. “The resulting exhibition showcases the diverse viewpoints and variety of creative processes of these summer artists. Please join us to celebrate this wonderful event.”
