Ridgefielder Raaga Subramanian, an eighth grader at St. Aloysius School in New Canaan, was on the winning team in a school science fair on March 3. He was among the 60 young scientists in grades 6-8 that showcase their STEM skills. He and his team members, Isabella Adamo and Chloe Sweitzer, won with a project entitled How Do pH Levels Affect You? More than 30 projects were presented, culminating months of classroom work using the STEM model of learning, which requires students to think beyond science textbooks to identify problems, conduct research, brainstorm, and experiment.
