Got history? Of the U.S.? Connecticut? Ridgefield? Here’s your chance to prove it!
On Friday evening, April 1, we’ll be hosting the Battle of Ridgefield III—our second history trivia contest, testing knowledge of the events and people that shaped our nation, state, and community. And you can be a competitor, earning bragging rights and wresting the championship trophy from last year’s winners, First Selectman Rudy Marconi’s Rebels.
The contest is open to teams from one to six members, at $10 per entrant. To sign up call 203-438-5485.
There hasn’t been anything quite like it since the first Battle of Ridgefield. (If you expect to have a chance this time, you’ll know the ironic name of that battle’s Patriot hero). Here are some other sample questions:
Five pairs of presidents shared the same last names. What were the five names?
Before the Civil War, Ridgefield’s ‘Big Shop’ carriage factory maintained a showroom in a city almost 1,400 miles away. What was the city?
The answers are Adams, Harrison, Johnson, Roosevelt, and Bush. And the city was New Orleans. But you already knew that.
So, recruit team members to supply the answers that you don’t know and join the fun on the evening of April’s Fool Day, with a chance to make some history of your own. And good luck.
