The Flag Football League at the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield officially finished up the season with a banquet this past Tuesday night, recognizing the accomplishments of the players.
Club members of all ages and skills had the opportunity to learn the game and the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and integrity.
The league consisted of four teams with 10-12 players per team and 10 weeks of games for club members from third to eighth grade.
“The league grew tremendously this year, and there was definitely some great football games played. However, the importance of the values that we try to instill in our players will always outweigh the other aspects of the game. We not only try to teach our members to play the game but to play the game the right way,” said Jeff Goncalves, program coordinator at the club.
