Help restore an artifact

For the third year, we are participating in Fairfield County’s Giving Day, the 24-hour online fund-raising drive organized by Fairfield County Community Foundation and Bank of America. The drive is set for Thursday, March 10, and we are asking you once again to make a generous donation toward the restoration of an artifact. The first year, you helped us restore Julia Gilbert’s court gown. Last year, you helped us restore a 19th-Century sampler stitched by Anna Marie Resseguie as well as one of two antique hooked rugs in our collection. This year, we want to raise the funds to restore and display the second hooked rug, which features a beautiful bird motif in green and red tones. Like the first rug, this one will also be displayed in a specialty frame in the Upstairs Assembly room. All our textile artifacts are professionally restored by the Textile Conservation Workshop in South Salem, N.Y.

If you’re active on Facebook or Twitter, please help us win additional grant prizes by liking and re-tweeting our posts on Monday, March 7, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. We promise, we’ll make it worth your time to follow us on social media that day. Just one word — the KTM hookers are back and once again will bare it all!
