The Ridgefield League of Women Voters and the Ridgefield Library will celebrate Women’s History Month in March with a series of free events at the library, March 10-20.
A Day of Celebration, on Saturday, March 12, will begin at 1 p.m. with a lecture, A Dozen Women Who’ve Made a Difference, by Ridgefield historian Jack Sanders, discussing how local Ridgefield women have helped elevate the place of women in society. From 2 to 4 p.m., family-friendly activities will be offered, including a scavenger hunt with prizes, crafts and wandering historical women. Refreshments will be served.
On Wednesday, March 16, at 7 p.m., the offering is Powerful Voices: Connecticut Women Changing Democracy, a multimedia program presented by the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame that will highlight some of the state’s powerful female voices.
The exhibit We Fight for Roses, Too will be on display throughout the library during this time. The exhibit is on loan from the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame.
For more information or to register for the lectures: ridgefieldlibrary.org or 203-438-2282. The programs are sponsored in part by Union Savings Bank.
