On Friday, March 11, the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Inaugural Breakfast and State of the Town address at Silver Spring Country Club from 7:30 to 10 a.m. In addition to the swearing-in of our 2016 board of directors and the address by First Selectman Rudy Marconi, we will be honoring Personal Touch Welcome as Business of the Year.
Dee and Joe Strilowich started Personal Touch Welcome in 1999 when the Welcome Wagon Co., which Dee had been with since 1994, stopped doing home visits. Dee and Joe so strongly believed in the value of this service that Personal Touch Welcome was born, and it has been going strong for more than 16 years. In fact, 2015 marked a milestone for Dee and Joe as they completed their 10,000th home visit. That is no small accomplishment for a two-person team and a business that really does require a “personal touch.”
Dee and Joe put together a basket of offers and gifts for families moving to the community with an estimated value of more than $2,000. Families enjoy an introduction to dining, shopping, medical and financial services, cultural organizations, contractors, landscapers, and more. She also provides town maps and helpful information about voter registration, the library, local newspapers, the transfer station and recycling, motor vehicle forms, and more.
