As the snow starts to subside, roads are being cleared and more drivers are out and about.
The snow totals varied, as evidenced by these two measurements, one at 6 inches in southern Ridgefield and the other at 4 in the center of town.
The difference could be due to the effect of the High Ridge Road area that could keep greater amounts of snow from reaching the village when a storm is approaching from the west or southwest.
We had no totals for northern Ridgefield where the elevation is higher.
