On Friday, March 4, Near & Far Aid will host its 21st annual spring gala to raise funds granted by the charity to Fairfield County’s poverty-fighting organizations. The event will take place at the flagship Mitchells store in Westport. As part of the ongoing theme of Voices of Hope, the gala also will focus on the stories of the individuals served and the agencies that Near & Far Aid funds throughout the year.
“The Near & Far Aid Gala at Mitchells is going to be a fabulous party this year with a great band, dancing, delicious food and drinks and the best auction anywhere,” said Joan Panagos, president of Near & Far Aid. “It is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and the money we raise goes to help fund programs that fight poverty and improve the lives of those in need in Fairfield County.”
The Near & Far Aid Spring Gala at Mitchells will feature a standing dinner, festive signature cocktails, plus a preview of the best spring fashions during a live runway fashion show. In addition, attendees may bid on one-of-a-kind items, luxury holidays and unique experiences, such as: VIP tickets to the 2016 Wimbledon’s Ladies Finals with luxurious hotel accommodations and an exclusive fashion experience; 2016 Jingle Ball tickets; a year of unlimited dry cleaning from Fabricare Cleaners; four club seats to a New England Patriots game; four tickets to the Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles; A Handbag for Every Season provided by Mitchells of Westport; and a trip to surf camp in Costa Rica, at the silent, live and fine wine auctions.
