The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is hosting a “community painting exchange” as part of a project that invites visitors to think about painting a new way.
Participants creations appear on the walls of the Aldrich. The program is open to all ages and participants are asked to choose from one (or more) challenges:
- Paint without a paintbrush
- Paint something you have never painted before
- Paint without using paint
- Painting something you have never seen before
Participants create a work on an 8½ x 11” canvas of their choosing either at The Aldrich during one of its workshops or at home. People are welcome to drop in and paint in the Ed Center while visiting the museum. Completed paintings must be dropped off at the museum between March 5 and 12.
The painting exchange will be held on Saturday, March 19. Those who made a painting will be given one to bring home.
The workshops take place on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon for ages 2 through 5; 1 to 3 p.m. for ages 6 through 10. Free for members or with museum admission.
