Sarah and Bernard Bouissou

More than 30 Ridgefield area providers of food and drink will be serving samples of their best offerings at the Taste of Ridgefield on Sunday, Jan. 31, at Lounsbury House.

Sarah and Bernard  Bouissou were among the 21 restaurants at the first Taste of Ridgefield, and have participated in almost every Taste since then.

They began their cooking careers in their teens, trained in France, and met when they both worked at Le Cirque in the city, before opening their restaurant here. Sarah will not yet divulge this year’s offering, as always keeping it a surprise. However, the Bouissous always bring some type of an “action station” so they are cooking right in front of everyone. One of the things the Bouissous like about the Taste is seeing all the other restaurant people.

“We all work so hard all year and don’t have much time to socialize with other restaurateurs and their staff, so for us it’s a bit of a reunion.”

The sponsor for the event is Fairfield County Bank. There are two sessions: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and  4 to 6 p.m. Tickets at the door: $50 for adults, $25 under age 12, and no charge for toddlers. Reduced-price tickets of $45 are available now from any Rotarian, Squash’s and  Deborah Ann’s. Also available online at ridgefieldrotary.org
