Starbucks officials won’t say whether they are seeking a second store in Ridgefield, but their competitor has a leg up on them.
A new interactive map of Connecticut made by the website Trend CT, a Connecticut News Project publication, shows how many Dunkin’ Donuts coffee shops there are in each town, including Ridgefield, and how many shops per capita there are in each town.
Ridgefield has a total of four Dunkin’ Donuts, according to the Trend CT data. That’s nearly half as many as the neighboring city of Danbury’s grand total of 10. Compare that to only one Starbucks, on Danbury Road.
Available storefronts are seen all around Ridgefield’s commercial zones, including Branchville stretch of Route 7, but a ranking employee at Starbucks said there’s been no talk of adding a second location in town.
A spokesperson for the Starbucks corporate headquarters said the company is always looking to expand, but could not comment on specific questions.
