Ridgefield resident and St. Luke’s senior Will Twomey recently received the school’s Richard Pedrick Award and Herbert Upson Memorial. The Richard Pederick Award recognizes a St. Luke’s senior who exemplifies those qualities best characterized by former St. Luke’s parent and trustee, Dick Pedrick – leadership, dedication, intelligence, athletic participation, good sportsmanship, and love for his/her fellow human being. The Herbert Upson Memorial is awarded to seniors who best display qualities of sportsmanship, dedication and intense desire to succeed. Will was also recognized for completing a rigorous Classical Scholar program and will be inducted into the Cum Laude Society.
Boston University awarded academic degrees to 6,100 students in May 2015. Ridgefielders receiving degrees were Rosanne M. Zandvliet, bachelor of arts in biology, cum laude; Molly C. Trillo, bachelor of science in therapeutic studies; Thomas J. Bollerman, master of science in mechanical engineering.
Four Ridgefield residents were recently named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester: Colleen Keating, Joliette M. Mandel, Xinghao Wang, and Rosanne M. Zandvliet.
Jeff Rohrer, a 2012 Ridgefield High School graduate, earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., during commencement exercises in May. He completed his degree in three years. Rohrer lives in Ridgefield with his parents Margaret and Kent Rohrer where he has a summer internship with Deloitte LLP in Stamford. He will return to James Madison University in the fall to pursue his master’s degree in accounting.
Two Ridgefielders graduated from Springfield College recently. Danielle Perrault earned a master’s of education degree in sport management and recreation, and Duncan Cozens earned a bachelor’s of science degree in sports biology.
Jenna M. Patterson of Ridgefield has been named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2015 semester. Patterson’s major is general engineering.
Erin McKenna of Ridgefield has been named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at Merrimack College.
Clemson University has announced the president’s list for the spring 2015 semester for maintaining a 4.0 (all A) grade-point average. Ridgefield students on the list include Joseph Harrison Malley, whose major is financial management; Clare Mellinger, whose major is early childhood education; Shannon Beatrice Reed, whose major is early childhood education; and Seth Michael Vonkuhn, whose major is financial management.
Three from Ridgefield were named to Loyola University Maryland spring 2015 dean’s list: Jordan Kuchta, a member of the class of 2016; Jacob Rauscher, a member of the class of 2016; Tyler Beech, class of 2017.
Emma Scally, a rising sophomore at the College of the Holy Cross, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester.
Kendall Grannis graduated from Grinnell College on May 18 as one of 375 members of the class of 2015. Grannis earned a bachelor of arts degree with honors in Spanish and minored in environmental studies. Grannis is the child of Roger O. Grannis and Sandra V. Grannis of Ridgefield.
Storm Heidinger graduated with a bachelor of arts magna cum laude from Northwestern University on June 20. He majored in economics and psychology and minored in English literature. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He will be starting as a professional services analyst at The Nielsen Company in Wilton.

Miami University in Ohio awarded 4,101 degrees to students during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 16, in Yager Stadium. Graduates from Ridgefield included Griffin McCarty, Jonathan O’Connell and Daniel Romanello.
Amanda Hesemeyer of Ridgefield was named to The University of Scranton dean’s list. She is a sophomore nursing major in the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.
Sean Robinson, Ridgefield High School class of 2005, received his juris doctor degree from the NYU School of Law on May 21. Earlier that same week, on May 19, he received his master’s degree in public administration degree from the NYU Wagner School of Government, earning the two degrees concurrently. He was executive editor of the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy at the law school. Robinson, who attended Harvard University for his undergraduate degree, will take the bar exam this July before moving to Washington, D.C., where he will begin working for the Federal Communications Commission in September.
Gabrielle Bouissou of Ridgefield was one of only 112 New Paltz students whose academic and co-curricular performance was recognized with the Outstanding Graduate designation at the 2015 SUNY New Paltz Outstanding Graduates ceremony held May 15.

Kendall O’Connell, daughter of OC and Terri O’Connell of Ridgefield, graduated May 17 from Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vt. She earned a bachelor of arts degree with high honors in biology/ecology and writing. The 2011 graduate of Ridgefield High School was active in the Marlboro College Outdoor Program, Orientation “Bridge Trips,” Work Day and the Environmental Advisory Committee. Upon graduation she was presented with The William Davisson Prize, awarded for extraordinary contributions to the Marlboro Community. Ms. O’Connell plans to pursue an environmental/ecological career.

Ryan Konopka of Ridgefield made the dean’s list for the spring semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

Daniel Hager of Ridgefield graduated as a member of the Class of 2015 at Union College during the college’s 221st Commencement exercises on Sunday, June 14. Hager received a bachelor of arts degree majoring in English. He is a 2011 graduate of Ridgefield High School.
Alyssa Grossbard, daughter of Sharon Cunninghis and Richard Grossbard, received her J.D. degree from Columbia University Law School in May 2015. She is a 2009 graduate of Ridgefield High School and a 2012 graduate of Brasenose College, University of Oxford. While at Columbia, she was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and was a member of the Columbia Journal of Law and the Arts. She was also a legal intern in development at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and at Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts in Manhattan. After sitting for the New York Bar Examination, she is to begin as an associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in New York in October.
Joshua Roepe of Ridgefield excelled during the spring 2015 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the dean’s list.
The Harvey School in Katonah, N.Y., has announced its academic awards for the final marking period of the spring term. Three Ridgefield residents earned recognition. Earning places on the headmaster’s list with at least a 3.7 GPA are Katie Ketner, grade 8 and Andrew Scherl, grade 11. Named to the honor roll with at least a 3.3 GPA is Gemma Tebbutt, grade 11.
At the recent Harvey Middle School Prize Night ceremony honoring the eighth graders moving up to the upper school, Katie Ketner was awarded the prize for excellence in art and won the Parents Association Cavalier Award for excellence in character and for commitment to academic pursuits. She was also recognized as one of the top 10 scholars in the school.
Two Ridgefield students were named to the dean’s list at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Meagan Maguire is a member of the Class of 2018. She is the daughter of John Maguire and Judith Biggar-Maguire and attended St Luke’s School. Julie Toich is a member of the Class of 2015. She is the daughter of Leno and Sandra Toich and attended Ridgefield High School.
