Four young men including three from Ridgefield were arrested Wednesday after police investigated a report of a car being attacked with baseball bats and found 25 grams of marijuana and two grams of cocaine.
Police said they received a call from a woman on Great Hill Road Wednesday at 4:43 p.m. who said two young men attacked her car with bats, causing moderate damage. She told police her son went to a Walnut Grove Road home, where he thought he could find those responsible, and damaged another person’s car in retaliation. A young man there was struck in the leg with a board as well, but refused an ambulance after being treated at the scene.
Matthew Obernier, 18, of Walnut Grove Road, was charged with first degree criminal mischief and released on a promise to appear in court July 22.
Joseph Santoro, 19, of 3 Lilac Lane, Danbury, was charged with first degree criminal mischief, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana. He was held overnight until appearing in court the next day.
Daniel Benoit, 20, of Great Hill Road, Ridgefield, was charged first first degree criminal mischief, and released on $100 bond for a court appearance July 22.
Jason Mayerman, 20, of Hamilton Road, Ridgefield, was charged with first degree criminal mischief and third degree assault and released on $100 bond for a court appearance of July 22.
