Firefighter/paramedic Patrick Holland has been named Emergency Medical Service Provider of the Year by the Ridgefield Fire Department.
Holland, a 20-year veteran of the department, was named by Chief Kevin Tappe based on the unanimous recommendation of a committee consisting of the assistant chief and the ambulance supervisors. In nominating Holland, the committee recognized his excellent patient care skills, his dedication to educating other providers, and his recent resuscitation of a cardiac arrest patient under very difficult circumstances.
Holland was formally recognized at an awards dinner at Danbury Hospital on May 21.
