Kathleen C. (Kay) Donohue of East Quogue, N.Y., and a longtime Ridgefielder, died on May 22 after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, at Good Shepherd Hospice, Port Jefferson N.Y.
A native of Queens, N.Y. she moved with her husband and family to Mimosa Circle, Ridgefield, in 1972. She worked for many years as assistant town clerk and participated in town government. She changed careers in the 1980s and worked as a salesperson for Juran Institute in Wilton until her retirement. She and her husband left Ridgefield in 2006 and moved to eastern Long Island.
She is survived by her husband, David, daughter Margaret and husband Walter Donovan, daughter Kathleen Hennessey, sons David and Robert Donohue and son Stephen and wife Lori Donohue. She is also survived by grandchildren Thomas, Jeanne and Theresa Donovan, Caitlin and Lauren Hennessey, Jaqueline and Owen Donohue, and Alexandria Donohue, her brother James and wife Alberta Begley, brother John and wife Peggy Begley and many nieces and nephews.
She dearly loved her family and wonderful friends and will be greatly missed by many.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 26, at R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home, 94 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, N.Y., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rosalie R.C. Church, 31 East Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, on Wednesday, May 27, at 1 p.m.
