The Bacon Brothers are the multi-talented real life brothers – actor Kevin (The Following, Apollo 13,Mystic River, Footloose…), and Michael, the Emmy-Award winning film and television composer. They grew up playing music together, and nearly 20 years ago made it official when they formed The Bacon Brothers.
Their shows blend hard-charging tunes with mellow, country-folk ballads, and a little Philly soul – a vibe that has won them an ever-growing following. Their infectious music will have fans dancing in their seats and singing along at their return engagement at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, June 19, at 8 p.m. Michael Bacon is on vocals, guitar, and cello; Kevin Bacon will be on vocals, guitar, and percussion; Paul Guzzone on bass guitar and backing vocals; Joe Mennonna on keyboards and accordion; Frank Vilardi on drums, and Ira Siegel on lead guitar, mandolin, and backing vocals. Philadelphia Road, The Best of The Bacon Brothers was released in 2012, and their latest 36¢ was released last year.
They like nothing better than putting aside fame to deliver an evening brimming with musical talent and passion. Special Guest is rocker, singer/songwriter and rising star Kathryn Gallagher. The talented daughter of actor Peter Gallagher has shared the stage with Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors and Little Feat among others. Her song “Damaged” was featured in the film Thanks for Sharing starring Mark Ruffalo and Gwenyth Paltrow.
The multi-talented Gallagher has also appeared in acting roles in Deaf West’s production ofSpring Awakening at Wallis Annenberg in Beverly Hills. Her first EP I’m Fine with Mikal Blue (Colbie Callait) was released to rave reviews. Bailey’s Backyard (23 Bailey Avenue, Ridgefield) will offer a 10% discount on the dinner bill the night of the event when tickets are presented.

The Bacon Brothers’ melodies have garnered notoriety on the country-folk scene. Kevin and Michael were presenters at the CMT Awards last June in Nashville. Kevin Bacon knows how to rock out on the guitar in a way that will make the audience forget he is one of the most prolific actors of our time — Mystic River, The River Runs Wild and Footloose, to name a few of his mega hits. His latest film, R.I.P.D, releases on July 19th. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003.Michael Bacon is currently working on the score for the film, Morgenthau, scheduled to air on WNET/PBS this fall. Michael is a Distinguished Lecturer at Lehman College in the Bronx where he teaches the Film Scoring Program. The soundtrack for his most recent film, Downtown Express, is being released on June 25th on Rocelle Records.
