A busy construction site off Danbury Road is the location of an office building and an apartment building that are both being put up by Sturges Brothers Inc.
It’s a roughly $3-million project, and work started in February, Don Sturges said.
The office building, which is closer to completion, would face across Danbury Road toward the intersection of South Street. The apartment building would face on Island Hill Avenue.
“The office medical building should be done by early summer, I’d say July,” Sturges told The Press.
“The building that we just poured the foundation for is going to be some really nice apartments in a great location,” he said. “We’ve got seven two-bedroom and three one-bedroom, with an elevator, some parking underneath.
“We have three apartments leased out, and we have the first floor of the office building leased out.”
The apartments will likely be ready in late summer, he said.
Three of the 10 apartments will meet state affordability guidelines.
Most days there are 15 to 20 workers employed at the site, Sturges said.
