Two daytime art classes for beginners start soon in Ridgefield Continuing Education.
Drawing for Beginners is a back-to-basics drawing class that is meant for the inexperienced and experienced alike. All of the fundamentals will be covered, from contour through composition. Class meets on Thursdays, March 19 and 26 and April 2 and 9, from 10 to noon at the Venus Building. Cost is $92 (materials list on website).
Explore the Mediums allows participants to explore charcoal, pastel, watercolor, and oil by spending a two-hour class on each medium to help them decide which medium is for them. Explore meets on Mondays, March 16, 23 and 30 and April 6, from 10 to noon. Cost is $92; a $20 fee payable to the instructor at the first class covers all materials and supplies needed.
Instructor Laura McCormick is a freelance artist specializing in charcoal and pastel portraiture. She has been teaching drawing for many years. Advance registration required. Visit ridgefieldschools.org or phone Peggy Bruno at 203-431-2812.
