The Ridgefield Exchange Club and the Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center in Stamford shared dinner, inspiring stories, and ideas on parenting on Tuesday, June 17, in at the Center in Stamford. The Parenting Skills Center works to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by providing home-based intervention to “at risk” children and their families. Donna Miller, the executive director of the Exchange Club Parenting Skills center, told case histories of families whose lives have been turned around. The Ridgefield Exchange Club members, led by Todd Ackerman and Chris Miller, hosted the dinner. The Ridgefield Exchange Club formed with the mission of preventing child abuse, and has programs of offering scholarships to high school seniors and honoring policemen and firefighters in the local community.
