Introduction to Photoshop Elements is a Ridgefield Continuing Education class for people with some computer skills.
After an overview of ways you can transform your images using Photoshop, students learn to use the basic tools and techniques that will fix the most common problems with the average photo: color, contrast, brightness and sharpness correction, and cropping.
Students learn to use selection tools to change just a part of a picture, remove intrusive objects from the scene, or move things form one location to another.
Import and organization of images, file formats, and resolutions are also discussed. Students may bring their own laptop or use provided computers.
Instructor Michael Serao has taught many Photoshop and photography classes and also teaches design at WCSU. Photoshop Elements Intro meets on Thursdays, July 10 and 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. ($81). A follow-up class, Photoshop Elements Phase II meets on Thursdays, July 24, 31 and Aug. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. ($119). Classes meet at the Venus Building. Advanced registration required.
