Claire Miksad of Yankee Hill Road graduated from Manhattan College on May 18 with a bachelor of science in elementary education. Ms. Miksad completed her student-teaching in the New York City public school system and is now a New York state-certified teacher. This fall, Ms. Miksad will be pursuing a master’s degree in special education as part of the five-year dual elementary/special education program at Manhattan College.

Amy V. Killie, a senior zoology major, has been named to the president’s list for the spring 2014 semester at SUNY Oswego.
Fairfield University’s 64th commencement exercises were held on Sunday, May 18. Ridgefield residents receiving diplomas included: Adele Annesi, Karen Corcoran, Devon Fontaine, Jessica Giordano, Connie Johnson, Allison Morgan, Carrie Nelson, Anthony Scheer, and Madeleine Sposito.

Grandparents Thomas Pritchard (Princeton class of 1955) and Mary Laura Pritchard, longtime Ridgefielders, attended Collin Berger’s graduation from Princeton University on June 3. Mr. Berger, Ridgefield High School class of 2010, graduated with a bachelor of arts magna cum laude. He concentrated in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and earned a certificate in finance. He is the son of Kathy and Jim Berger of High Ridge Avenue.
Jessica R. Petty of Ridgefield has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Samford University. Ms. Petty studied early childhood education, early childhood special education, elementary education and elementary collaborative education in the Orlean Bullard Beeson School of Education and Professional Studies.
Ithaca College announced three May 2014 graduates were from Ridgefield. Daniel Sheldon graduated from the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance with a degree in health and physical education. Sara Kay graduated from the Roy H. Park School of Communications with a degree in communication, management and design. Michael Sheldon graduated from the School of Business with a degree in business administration.
