Parks and Recreation has a number of science summer camps planned, for young paleontologists, architects, muggles and wizards.

Children ages 6 to 9 can go back in time and explore the days of dinosaurs in Ridgefield Parks & Recreation’s Young Paleontologists Camp.

They’ll excavate their own fossils, build a nest of dinosaur eggs, and get the true scoop on dinosaurs.

Campers ages 7 to 13 will design a houseboat to float in water, build geodesic domes with marshmallows, and study the innovative ideas of architects in the Building by Design Architecture Camp.

Harry Potter fans may enjoy Science Magic for Muggles Camp for wizard wannabees. Campers ages 8 to 13 will perform experiments, use wands an charms, and play in a game of Quidditch.

Activities will explore the science behind color changing potions, levitation, tea-leaf reading, and tri-wizard challenges.

All of three camps run Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
