The Full Court Peace Club of Ridgefield High School recently raised over $1,500 with a free-throw fund-raiser on April 6 to benefit the restoration of Domus Gymnasium in Stamford and the Emma Sandhu Scholarship Fund.
Kids in fourth through 12th grade attended the competition at St. Mary’s gymnasium to make hoops for charity.
Participants had sponsors pledge donations.
Seventh grade East Ridge Middle School student Yohann Britto raised the most money — $623 — and RHS junior Soccy Panageas hit the highest number of free throws, with 80 out of 100.
In total, $1,515.10 was raised.
Jack Jancin provided the use of St. Mary’s gym, and Kathy Curlett is the club’s adviser.
“I enjoyed coming to the fund-raiser and shooting hoops, especially because I knew the money was going to charity,” said Yohann.
