Jennifer Mathy has been appointed to the Ridgefield Arts Council. She is owner and director of Watershed Gallery and brings her experience in arts marketing to the council.
Ms. Mathy is a former corporate marketing executive who held positions as vice president of advertising and brand management for Morgan Stanley in New York, brand manager of Discover Card in Chicago, and publicist for the fine arts program of Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She has been a freelance writer and a special events planner, and most recently operated her own integrated marketing communications consultancy for small local businesses.
“I believe our world-class arts organizations — combined with a fascinating history and a quintessential New England vibe — sets Ridgefield apart from other communities of our size,” Ms. Mathy said. “The arts can be a powerful tool in both uniting the community and attracting tourism dollars.”
The Ridgefield Arts Council is a volunteer municipal council, appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The organization generates attention for and collaboration between members of Ridgefield’s vibrant arts community.
