Police are looking for a well-dressed man they say passed two fake $100 bills to two Danbury Road businesses Tuesday, May 13, between 5:15 and 5:25 p.m.
The unidentified man is described as Hispanic man, about five-foot-eight-inches tall, with curly brown hair, wearing a dark gray suit and shiny shoes.
A police press release says that the suspect entered each store and purchased an inexpensive item with a counterfeit $100 bill and the cashier at each business gave him change.
It also says that at one of the store, the suspect stole cash from a tip jar.
“It was reported that the unidentified male had a slight Spanish accent and spoke in broken nervous sentences,” the press release says.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents, or who may have received counterfeit currency is asked to call the police department at 203-438-6531.
