The Board of Education will host a pair of open forums, and also launch an online survey, for townspeople interested in the district’s search for a new superintendent.

The board hired consulting firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates earlier in the month as it works to replace superintendent Deborah Low, who will retire in June.

“A key step in this process is to identify the characteristics we will be seeking in our new superintendent,” said board chairman Austin Drukker in a press release sent out Monday. “We would greatly appreciate your input and assistance with this important task.”

The open forums, which will be conducted by a member of the consulting firm, will be held at the town hall annex building off Prospect Street near Yanity gym on March 13 at 7 p.m. and March 14 at 10 a.m.

The online survey, which was created by the firm and may be found on the school’s website, ridgefield.org, must be completed no later than March 17.

“Community input throughout the process of the superintendent search is vital to the success of the search,” the board wrote in a letter posted on the school’s website. “We wish to thank Deborah Low for her incredible service and we wish her well while we also look forward with excitement to finding and welcoming the next leader of our schools.”
