National Weather Service forecast of snow, in inches, on Thursday, as of 3:30 this afternoon

Another snow storm is headed our way for Thursday, February 13, with up to 14 inches possible.

First Selectman Rudy Marconi is warning that towns, including Ridgefield,  are experiencing a shortage of salt deliveries as a result of the many snow / ice events that began in early December 2013.”

International Salt, one of Connecticut’s largest salt vendors, is limiting deliveries to non-government customers in order to provide as much as possible to towns and cities.

“The town continues to receive salt deliveries,” said Mr. Marconi. “However, at a much slower pace than normal.”

“We will continue to salt and plow the roads during the coming storm,” he said.

“However, our limited salt supply will affect how much salt we can use on each road.  Therefore, we need your help.  If you must travel during the storm, please use extra care.  Limit your speed and keep a safe distance between you and the care in front of you.  We want you to reach your destination safely.

“Thank you for your vigilance and your understanding,” he added.
