Joanne Krisa, 51, Ridgefielder’s sister, worked in physical therapy

Joanne Krisa, 51, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2014, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joanne was born June 5, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY.

Joanne touched the lives of many with her beautiful smile, generous spirit and nurturing heart.  She was one of four children born to, and survived by, her mother Carol Hamilton Mitchell, and her father, the late Joseph L. Shea.

Joanne is survived by her devoted husband of three years, Peter Worcester, his children Scott and Jamie Worcester, and his grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sons, Michael and Christopher Krisa. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, Dana Tamborra, Joseph M. Shea of Ridgefield, and Kelly Shea; her doting grandmother, Anne McQueeney; her precious grandson, Blake Krisa; her lifelong friend, Lynn Forest; her one and only niece and many nephews; her treasured in-laws and extended family, and countless other friends who were blessed to have known her.

Joanne worked in physical therapy for over 20 years, most recently in Pawling, NY, and was adored by her colleagues and patients.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, good food and lots of laughter, her annual trips to Cape Cod, spending time at the beach, memorable weekends in Vermont, and being a grandmother to her and Peter’s grandchildren.

Joanne was predeceased by her father, Joseph L. Shea, her grandfathers, Jimmy Shea and Timothy McQueeney, her grandmother Nancy Shea, her cousins Donald Telepan and Timmy McQueeney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield CT, on Wednesday, February 12 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Bedford Union Cemetery, Bedford, NY.

Friends and family may call at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Tuesday, February 11 from 5-8pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield CT   on Wednesday, February 12 at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Bedford Union Cemetery, Bedford, NY.

Joanne’s family would like to thank caregivers at Greenwich Hospital and Hospice for their compassion, care and support. Memorial donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to advance research, support patients, and create hope.
