An informational session on Thursday, Feb. 6 will offer details on how teens and adults can participate in a week of volunteer home-repair through the Jesse Lee Appalachia Service Project (ASP).

This no-obligation night will introduce high school students and their parents — and any other interested volunteers — to the Appalachia Service Project overall, and especially to the developing plan for the local ASP group’s mission trip June 28 to July 6.

The session will start at 7:30 p.m. at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Carriage House on King Lane.

Appalachia Service Project is open to anyone who has completed their freshman year of high school. Adults may volunteer, too. Volunteers need not be members of a church or residents.

Last summer, 145 local students and adults worked to restore the homes of folks in two counties each in West Virginia and Virginia.

For more details, go online to www.jesseleeasp.org or call Linda Shackelford at 914-763-8165.
