Chamber chair, Rosenthal academy, eating big, realty course

Chamber elects new board; LouAnn Daprato is chair

LouAnn Daprato of Total Mortgage will be the chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce board of directors for 2014.

The swearing-in of the new board will take place at the Inaugural Luncheon and State of the Town address on March 14 at the Silver Spring Country Club.

Dr. Rosenthal joins Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine

Dr. Allan I. Rosenthal, sports podiatrist, has recently joined the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Dr. Rosenthal of the Advanced Foot Care Center in Ridgefield is a board-certified podiatrist who is on the surgical staff of Danbury and Norwalk hospitals and Ridgefield Surgical Center.

The American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine serves to advance the understanding, prevention and management of lower extremity sports and fitness injuries.

Dr. Rosenthal is an avid skier, tennis player and pickleball player. He is testing out tennis shoes for Tennis magazine and has worked in the past with tennis shoe companies, designing shoes.

Feeding large groups topic for discussion

Tops at Raveis for December

Lisa Briscoe was Top Listing Associate and The Morris Group was the Top Listing Team in the Ridgefield/Redding office of William Raveis Real Estate Mortgage & Insurance for December.

Stephanie Ruggiero was Top Selling Associate and The Morris Group was Top Selling Team.

Isabelle Valentin was Top Producing Associate and The Morris Group was Top Producing Team.

Course teaches about real estate

Real Estate Principles and Practices starts Feb. 10 through Ridgefield Continuing Education.

The 60-hour course meets the minimum requirements as set forth by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission and Department of Consumer Protection for application to take the sales associate exam.

Instruction is led by Terry Hastings, who has taught Real Estate Principles and Practices in Ridgefield for many years. Additional licensed brokers, including Ray Hastings, Jack Baldaserini, and Rob Gutman, also teach some sessions.

Class meets at the Venus Municipal Building on Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 10 through early May, plus Tuesday, May 6 (no class Feb. 17 or April 14 or 16), from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost, including texts, is $437.

Bank names three managers

Fairfield County Bank, headquartered in Ridgefield, has announced three new managers.

Brian Kenny, vice president/branch manager, has assumed responsibility for the Federal Road office, at 114 Federal Road, Danbury. Mr. Kenny joined Fairfield County Bank in 2001 as assistant branch manager of the Westport Avenue office. He previously held retail banking positions at First Union Bank and Union Trust Co.

Arianna Middleton has been promoted to the position of vice president/branch manager, and assumes responsibility for the Wall Street office, 67 Wall Street, Norwalk. Mrs. Middleton joined Fairfield County Bank in December 2003, and received the Fairfield County Bank Rookie of the Year award in 2007 and MVP award in 2008.

JoAnn Sterling has been promoted to the position of vice president/branch manager. She also assumes responsibility for the Fairfield office at 1312 Post Road, Fairfield, in addition to the Tunxis Hill office at 255 Tunxis Hill Road (Fairfield). Mrs. Sterling has more than 30 years of banking experience and before joining Fairfield County Bank, held various senior management roles, including sales leader, market area manager, and branch manager at Wells Fargo Bank in Fairfield.
