Anna Marcus, a 2013 graduate of Ridgefield High School and daughter of Elizabeth and Jeffrey Marcus, was selected for dean’s list at Penn State. Ms. Marcus is a freshman and plays on the women’s club hockey team, currently ranked No. 1 in the ACHA. At Ridgefield High School, she was a scholar athlete, a member of the National Honor Society, captain of the hockey team, and a varsity lacrosse player.
The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named Joshua Pilch of Ridgefield to the SUNY Potsdam dean’s list. He is majoring in history.
Four Ridgefielders at Connecticut College in New London have received honors for the fall semester: Dezmond Bishop, Class of 2016, dean’s honors; Kaitlin Cunningham, Class of 2016, dean’s honors; Michael Petchonka, Class of 2014, dean’s high honors; and Jillian Yaun, Class of 2017, dean’s high honors.
Jessica R. Petty of Ridgefield has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Samford University, Birmingham, Ala.
Tommy Franco, son of Yvonne and Tom Franco of Old Branchville Road, earned dean’s list honors at Roger Williams University (RWU) for the fall semester. Mr. Franco, a 2011 graduate of Ridgefield High School, is a junior at RWU pursuing a mechanical engineering degree with a minor in mathematics. Mr. Franco is a member and treasurer of the university’s engineering club and a member of RWU’s track team.
The fall semester dean’s list at Bryant University, Smithfield, R.I., includes Brett Baker, a sophomore in applied mathematics and statistics, and Charles South, a freshman in marketing.
Junius Brown, the son of Hilary and Junius Brown of Ridgefield, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College, St. Paul, Minn., for the fall semester. A graduate of Ridgefield High School, Mr. Brown was a sophomore at Macalester last fall.
Theresa Mackey, a 2012 graduate of Ridgefield High School and daughter of Dorothy and David Mackey, has achieved Dean’s List for both the fall semester and cumulatively while attending the Rosenstiel School for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Miami, Fla. Ms. Mackey is pursuing a bachelor of science degree with a double major in marine sciences and biology, and double minor in chemistry and psychology. She was inducted into Rho Rho Rho, the University’s Marine Sciences Honor Society. She recently participated in a satellite shark tagging expedition with the R.J. Dunlap Marine Conservation Program. Ms. Mackey earned her open-water scuba diving certification and has completed marine research through educational dives involving shipwrecks and man made reefs.
Three Ridgefielders are on the dean’s list at Keene (N.H.) State College for the fall semester: Jack Anderson, Laura Richards and Laura Richards.
Bryan Mazzola, the son of Steven and Lori Mazzola of Ridgefield, has been named to the dean’s list at Randolph-Macon Academy Front Royal, Va., for the first quarter. He is a senior.
Cameron McGuire of Ridgefield, a member of the class of 2015, was named to the honor roll for the fall term at Pomfret (Conn.) School, a private college preparatory school.
Three Ridgefielders have been named to the dean’s list at Providence (R.I.) College for the fall semester: Melissa Brian, class of 2016; Conner O’Meara, class of 2014 and Michael Wasenius, class of 2014.
Cassidy Consavage of Ridgefield qualified for the fall 2013 dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.
Two Ridgefielders have been named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., for the fall semester: Lauren L. DeGennaro, daughter of Robert and Sarah Degennaro, is a junior majoring in geoscience, and a graduate of Convent of the Sacred Heart; Hannah K. Kloeckner, daughter of Sabine Heym-Kloeckner and Kristof Kloeckner, is a senior majoring in Hispanic studies and psychology, and a graduate of Ridgefield High School.
The Gunnery, a 163-year-old co-educational college preparatory school in Washington, Conn., reports four Ridgefielders achieved honors for the winter term: Lane K. Berisford, ’16, Dana J. Cerone, ’14, Henry J. Gough, ’15, and Andrew W. Hamilton, ’14.
The Harvey School in Katonah, N.Y., reports several Ridgefield residents have been recognized for achieving a grade point average of at least a 3.3 and making the school’s honor roll for the final marking period of the fall term: Gabrielle Cacciola, grade 12, Samuel Mackiewicz, grade 11, Avary Carlson, grade 10, and Katie Ketner, grade 7.
Andrew DeLalla, a sophomore from Ridgefield, has been named to the high honor roll for the fall term at the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor.
Soichi Hirokawa of Ridgefield, a member of the Class of 2014 at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine, was honored for academic excellence during the college’s annual Sarah and James Bowdoin Day ceremony Oct. 25. Hirokawa is majoring in physics and Russian and minoring in philosophy. Students designated Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholars are in the top (highest GPA) 20% of each class for the previous academic year.
