Ridgefielder Dean Defino will discuss his recently released book, The HBO Effect, an inside scoop about this premium pay-TV company, tonight Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m., at the Ridgefield Library.
While providing detailed information about HBO, Mr. Defino also places the company within the broader context of the historical and institutional media history of United States culture and television.
Mr. Defino is associate professor of English and director of film studies at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y.
