The Law Through Film series will begin Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Prospector Theater’s Pop-Up Cinema on Main Street.

Sponsored by Rob Creamer PC, the series aims to involve the community in relevant legal issues by screening award-winning films. The first evening will offer Sidney Lumet’s 12 Angry Men starring Henry Fonda.

After the film, Thomas Leaf Esq. from Ventura, Ribiero & Smith will moderate a discussion on how this rule of law is the basis of a free society. The audience will be encouraged to participate in conversation about today’s countries that do not offer this basic right to their people.

The Prospector Theater, a nonprofit organization, plans more of this kind of entertainment and conversation when it opens its new facility on Prospect Street.

The series continues on Feb. 26 and March 23, when the Oscar-nominated Ron Howard film Frost/Nixon will be shown. A moderated discussion will follow relating to today’s administration, the NSA and Obamacare.

The audience will choose March’s film based on what is happening in the news.
