Watershed Gallery will host a children’s art exhibition and silent auction to benefit the Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation on Friday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Young at Art Exhibition will feature work from students in grades K-12, which will be auctioned to raise funds for children with special needs.

Student artists interested in participating should register by Sunday, Jan. 19.

“This is our second year inviting student artists to showcase their work for the benefit of the Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation,” said Jennifer Mathy of Watershed Gallery. “Children in our community loved exhibiting their work in a professional art gallery — and doing something to help other kids.”

Interested student artists may submit one work of art, be it a photo, painting, drawing, print, or sculpture.

Submission guidelines and registration forms may be obtained by emailing info@watershedgallery.com or by dropping in at the gallery,  23 Governor Street.

Registration fees are $15 per artist, with all proceeds going to the foundation.

The Molly Ann Tango Memorial Foundation is a Ridgefield-based nonprofit organization, founded in 2004 to help children with special needs and their families.

The foundation helps finance the purchase of much-needed medical equipment and services when insurance is exhausted and other social programs are not available. In addition to financial support, the foundation helps families navigate the medical and social communities to find the products and services that will specifically meet their needs.

Artwork from the Young at Art exhibition will be on view to the public Jan. 24 to 26 at the gallery.
