Ten students from Ridgefield High School have been selected to participate in the Connecticut Music Educators Association Western Region High School Music Festival to be held Jan. 17 and 18, 2014 at Trumbull High School.
The selected students and their Western Region music ensembles are: Patrick Francis, Hannah Kim, and Briana LoCicero (concert band); Kent Rapp (jazz ensemble); Jacob Litt, Julianne Papadopolous, and Michael Shofi (choir); and Emily Kerr, Adam Rayfield, Sarah Searfoss (orchestra).
Each of these students in a member of one or more Ridgefield High School music ensembles under the direction of Joyce Flanagan or Michael McNamara including concert choir, concert band, jazz band, and symphonic orchestra.
High school students from across Fairfield County participated in the association’s Western Region music auditions on Saturday, Nov. 16 at New Fairfield High School.
Students with the highest audition scores were selected to participate in the January festival, which includes rehearsals and performances under the direction of renowned conductors.
Students selected for participation in the festival are eligible to audition for the association’s All-State Music Festival April 3 and 5 in Hartford.
