4 — A Ryder rental truck hit a power line and pulled down two utility poles on Bayberry Hill Road around 3:40 p.m. today.

One of the poles landed on the truck, smashing part of the box.

The truck’s driver stayed inside the vehicle as police and firefighters responded to the scene.

There weren’t any sparks coming out of the damaged wire; however, police dispatch told the driver not to exit his vehicle.

Emergency responders are currently on the scene.

It appears multiple power lines have been affected. CL&P, which arrived on the scene around 4:30, is reporting 16 customers out of service.
