The Discovery Center at Ridgefield is hosting a guided bird walk program for all ages on Saturday, April 9, at 8 a.m. in the Florida Refuge Open Space of Ridgefield. The Discovery Center birding programs take place each month at various locations and habitats throughout Ridgefield.
Discovery Center birder Noah Sferra will lead the morning stroll in search of birds through the meadows and woodland habitats of the property and share information on native birds and their ecology and conservation. Participants have seen at least 12 different songbirds on recent outings.
Participants should dress for the outdoors and wear comfortable boots. Binoculars will be available for participants to borrow.
At the Florida Hill entrance, park on the shoulder of High Valley Road, where the group will meet and walk into the refuge.
The program is co-sponsored by Ridgefield Park and Recreation.
All ages are welcome. This program is free of charge. Reservations at ridgefielddiscovery.org or 203-438-1063.
