The season of Lent climaxes at the First Congregational Church with its annual Maundy Thursday observance, with worship at 8 p.m. on March 24, and a child- and family-friendly Good Friday service on the following day at 3 p.m. The church offers four services of worship on Easter Sunday.

Easter Dawn worship, on Sunday at 6:30 a.m., features music led by the Worship Band, the message delivered by the church’s senior minister, Dr. Charles Hambrick-Stowe, and the sacrament of Holy Communion. The service is outdoors in the church’s meditation garden (in the parlor in case of rain).

The celebration of the Resurrection in the church’s historic sanctuary takes place with a special schedule of 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. services.  The Celebration Ringers handbell choir provides music during worship at 8, with the Chancel Choir and a brass ensemble at the latter two services.  The Easter message, No Idle Tale, will be delivered by Dr. Hambrick-Stowe, with Holy Communion at all services.

Families with children are especially invited to worship at 9:30 and 11, as there is a special time for children during these services and childcare is provided for children age two and under.

Visitors are always welcome at the First Congregational Church, located by the fountain at the intersection of Main Street and West Lane in Ridgefield. For more information, visit the church website at  or call the church office at 203-438-8077.
