Farmingville Elementary School students created bookmarks as part of a community project with the Aldrich Museum and the Ridgefield Library. Inspired by the Aldrich’s exhibition of works by Ruth Root exploring the artist’s love of books, Farmingville students in grades three through five made original bookmarks using materials supplied by the artist.
Finished bookmarks will be placed in a library book at the Farmingville School Library or the Ridgefield Public Library.
Each unique bookmark will include a tag indicating the nature of the project and Farmingville’s participation. Media specialist Chris Wallace and art teacher Rachael Penney collaborated on the initiative at Farmingville.
