The Ridgefield Republican Town Committee held its organizational meeting last week and elected the following executive officers for the 2016-18 term: Chairman Alex Karsanidi, Vice Chairman Peter Chipouras, Corresponding Secretary Hope Wise, Recording Secretary Michael Harmon, and Treasurer John Sweeney.
The outgoing chair, Joseph Savino, and outgoing leadership team were thanked for the hard work done in getting the town committee refocused and energized.
Going forward the goals will be trying new ideas and strategies in rebuilding and being proactive in new ways, as well as being more involved in the community.
The town committee will appeal to all ages, and especially to younger Ridgefielders, with the goal of finding future candidates and long-term supporters pursuing Republican principles.
The regular business meeting is the third Thursday of each month in the Ridgefield Town Hall large conference room starting at 7:30 p.m.
Special meetings and changes to the schedule will be announced.
