Attorney David P. Burke, 63, of Redding, passed away on March 15, 2016. He was the loving husband of Mrs. June Anne (Weber) Burke.
David was born on March 15, 1953 in Pasadena, California; a son of the late Ambrose Patrick and Suzanne (Hind) Burke. David graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in Political Science in 1975. He received his J.D. from George Washington University in 1978.
A resident of Redding for the past 30 years, David was an avid bicyclist. He biked through the Pyrenees, and the Italian and French Alps, and completed several famous climbs from the Tour du France. He was a man of many talents; he enjoyed photography, woodworking and sailing, as well as cooking French gourmet cuisine and wilderness hiking and camping. David was passionate about the plight of wildlife, especially grizzly and polar bears, and animal rescue.
David is survived by his wife of 35 years, June Anne, and his children: Gregory Burke, Victoria Burke and Alexandra Burke Vogdes and her husband, Brian. He is also survived by his three brothers; Timothy, Christopher and John as well as his mother, Suzanne. In addition to his wife, children, brothers and mother, David is survived by a granddaughter, Collette.
David was a loving pet owner and will be sorely missed by David and June Anne’s rescue dogs, James and Ariel.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Christ Church; 184 Cross Highway, Redding. Interment will be private.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.
