Anya Battaglino, a defenseman from the Connecticut Whale of the National Women’s Hockey League, paid a long-overdue visit to Rob Adams and Donald Eng on Nutmeg Sports.
Anya chats with Don and Rob about the NWHL and what her path was to become a professional women’s hockey player. Although she was injured for much of the season, Anya was able to play in the playoffs against the Buffalo Beauts. The Whale lost to the Beauts in that playoff series on Sunday, but Anya still came in to talk with the guys.
Anya is clearly an advocate for women’s hockey, and the notion that female athletes are simply athletes, regardless of gender.
